I'm going to fab my own over the next couple weeks. I have some ideas...probably would just regret it in the long run.

I made my own mount and it did not work as well or look as good as the RPG mount. I regreted not just buying the mount from RPG. If I had I to do all over, I'd just purchase the one that works.
Just my .02 worth.

Great trip report!

I am heading up to the Alpine Loop over Labor Day Weekend with my dad in my Raptor w/pop up camper. Any cool campsites along the trail that you guys noticed would be surely appreciated. Also, any trails that were not possible with a screw?

Lots of trailside camping pretty much everywhere on the loop. There are some cool streams and stuff to camp by (nothing like sleeping next to a river/stream to get a good night's sleep). Black bear will be your only challenge, but it's doable. There will be only a few three-point turns going up/down switchbacks (except for blackbear).
