I think you made the right decision here. Yeah it sucks that it wasn't taken care of before you got it but as my father would say, 'that ship has sailed'. $1100 to have it fixed when you legally are on the hook for the problem, meaning, it would take a shitload of time and money for you to possibly prove the dealer is legally responsible.

Not sure if he was referring to FTO or the tech doing the work. Definitely hooking the tech up wouldn't hurt.
That’s a good idea too.

Ford corporate said the dealership would have to agree and put me on hold and called them to see if they would.

So I owe some good will toward them as well.

Maybe I can buy the tech and service manager’s lunch for three days, or just get them each a gift card
