100 miles ??? lol

If your changing it before 3000 all your doing is wasting time and money but hey, its your time and your money. Unless you literally beat the shit out of your truck its completely fine wait till 5000.

Ford recommends oil and tire rotation every 5000.

While I think 100 might be a little low too, waiting 5000 on a new engine isn't something I would do either. It isn't so much that the oil has reached it EOL, but all the extra particulate from being new and parts wearing in.

My personal take on it anyway.

I just go until the computer chimes in on a change. Unless I know conditions have been on the severe side. Modern technology is pretty awesome and limits the need to be OCD with oil. Plus I really really don't see dealers and the manufacture missing out on extra money by saying "please change your oil after a thousand miles due to break in"

I think there is still a lot of old habits dying hard. I'm in the don't waste oil camp. In fact if you really want to worry about it, change it at the recommended intervals and snag an oil test on each change to ease the mind.

Simple Oil Change, NOT !

Tried changing the oil at 4000 miles, Good old guys at the ford engine plant felt they needed to put the oil filter on so tight that I ruined a brand new filter wrench !! That thing is on so tight, it is amazing !! Now I have to put clean oil in with an old filter to get it to the dealer so they can eat an oil change over stupidity !

Nothing makes me matter than something that is to tight when it does not have to be !

Update, I went and got a different wrench, pulled the whole skid plate. I would say that the filter was one to one and a half revolutions over tight. I am sorry but that is pretty sad ! THANKS FORD !

Anywho, we are all good for next time, next time I can use my hand. :peace:

I used Pennzoil 5W 20.

How do you reset the oil change indicator on the console ?

Got my dealer to allow tire rotation, (every 5,000) per book and oil change, (every 7,500 per book) to every 5K together and covered under service agreement.

Mine was changed at 23, after my Dealer had Line X done to my Trucks Bed, the Oil was changed out to full synthetic just 2 days after being delivered from the Rouge plant.

Waited to 5,000 on mine. 5W-20 Motor and FL820S. I don't think I hurt anything by waiting until 5,000miles. ;) Went ahead and rotated the tires as well.
I will likely see this on out and adding a fuel and air filter every so often.

Does the Raptor have maintenace minder to tell when to change the oil and tire rotation?I use synthetic oil for all of my cars/trucks. I usually change oil/filter at 6,000 miles. However, my Honda FIT maintenace minder turned on when it reached 9,000 miles.
