There's no concept mustang because the mustang is already a production car.

I think your a tad confused as to what a concept vehicle is.

Production cars don't get concepts. They get renderings. Which the mustang has plenty of.

I got to take the new Fiesta ST around Ford's Proving Grounds, and meet with Raj Nair, Director of Ford Product Development a couple weeks ago. Im pretty sure Im not confused. I do work with Shelby and if all goes well, Ford, so I can't see how your 16k posts on a vehicle forum you have about ZERO seat time in makes you the authority of F150 "concept vehicles". Please dont troll me. It wont end well.

I fail to see the difference of your point. Mustang is a production vehicle that is about to change to a new platform. F150 is a production vehicle that is about to change to a new platform. That SEEMS an awful lot like the exact same thing to me, except one of them is showing off features and direction of what we will see produced with a concept vehicle FROM FORD 18 months ahead of production, and the other is now within 6 months of production without even as much as a sketch FROM FORD.

If Ford is trying to upstage the new GM, they would have waited until the same time GM rolls out their new truck, just like what happened with the ZL1, not roll it out a year before.

Do I have some sort of knowledge of secrets on this? Yes and No. I was told some things in confidence that makes me very excited about the future of the mustang. I saw several in testing in fact, but all covered in layers of camo.

What I wasnt told, and now am starting to think, is that Ford actually did have a concept vehicle that was going to shape the new mustang. The EVOS. However, unlike the Atlas, the EVOS didnt get the warm welcome Ford hoped, the mustang design must have been rejected, and now somebody has had to scramble to get something completely different ready for approval.

I know a design is approved and moving forward, but what it is, and when it will be ready has yet to be publicly finalized. (Unlike the F150, the mustang has a deadline with the anniversary coming up.) What if its not ready by April? My guess would be that Ford would never ever confirm this. It would be just a well kept secret until the reveal, but if we get to April, and production isnt ready to start on the 2015 mustang, I think we may well have our answer. Theoretically speaking of course. Whats not theoretical is that 2014 mustang production is going strong, gt500 allocations are not being called final, so there will be a full year run. 2014 Preproduction GT500s? There were just under 100 made between November and February, many for testing, many for media mules. But this is a new platform, with much more fanfare, many more media outlets demanding one, many more test mules needed for what is a total new design. And yet, shutdown for retooling is still at least 6-8 weeks away even if they called in allocations right now. Then AA needs to be shutdown for at least 2 months for retooling.

Im just bouncing this off you guys for fun here, but this seems to be something that may be a HUGE story for us over the next few months if November rolls around and the 2014 is still chugging out of Flatrock.

Im just excited and ready to see something, damnit!

The atlas is not an f150 concept. It's a concept truck, called the atlas.....

How? The atlas is a concept. The mustang is a production vehicle. Two total different things.

Am I wrong with that statement? No. I'm not.

He asked why we see the atlas concept many moths before the next gen f150 comes out, yet we haven't seen the next mustang before its release.

I answered him.

I think it has something to do with the fact that you never let something go and always have to argue your point/opinion and can't simply scroll past something you disagree with. I guess "pick your battles" would be an appropriate way to put it.
