I personally haven't jumped my truck yet and its jumping capabilities weren't the maine reason I purchsed it in the first place. I do wonder however, how much it can take, what sort of parameters Ford set in place to meet this design criteria and so forth.
I have read with interest where some members have experienced failures associated with jumping, broken schock seals and the like.
One of the posted videos had text indicating that the owner, a frequent 'jumper', was experiencing increased 'frame flex' as a consequence.
So I'm on the fence as to whether I will jump it or not, I'm sure if I do it won't be a lot.

What about you? Thoughts, experiences, input.

I'm in the same boat as you are. Its great that the truck is strong enough to survive treament like that but its not a primary reason I bought it. I don't even know of anywhere around here where I could jump it if I wanted to.

The truck jumps amazing. The landings are softer than you would ever expect in a truck. I have a video of me at the Vegas roundup doing my big jump. I hit the tabletop at over 60. Landed a little uneven and went higher than I expected but didn't feel like it was even close to bending or breaking anything. I will post the video when I get home.

Hey rapta, that would be cool. Are you the one that posted about nearly 7K worth of repairs related to jumping? I thought it was you, it's hard to keep it strait sometimes.

No, well yes, but that was from a powerslide. The design engineer for the raptor rear end determined it was a manufacturer defect. But yes that led to a destroyed rear diff, a bent axle housing, ruined brakes, and a blown shock. But, it was all covered.
The raptor jumping has never been an issue. This video I wouldn't even say was pushing the truck to its limits. It had a bad landing because it was uneven. I did the jump several times before this and it landed smooth as can be. Turn it up to listen to the peoples reaction!

Greta video!

Did you hit something with the rear tire/wheel, that is a lot of damage? What did he feel was defective in that list?

While I have no plans on hucking this truck off any table tops for the sole purpose of seeing how high I can get. However, I have never hesitated to air this thing out over almost anything natural terrain has thrown at me.

Not trying to knock anyone who has.. but honestly, how many hard landings can a heavy truck like ours with out a long travel setup take??? Just sayin'

I'm not sure. They said it was the axle that was the weak spot, and since I was flooring it when it went, it threw a lot of loose power around in housing. So that bent it and blew the shock. Then, I had to drive 5 miles with it broken, and the only thing holding the tire and axle on was the brakes. So they were bent really bad.

IDK. I wouldn't get this truck just to jump it every chance I get. but now and then, they designed it to jump and it handles so well.

I feel much the same way, while I am happy to drive many times faster down some of my favorite trails than ever before I would be hard pressed to jump over and over agin for the sake of component longevity.
