They gave me a free loaner- Ford Edge.

So I hop in this thing and am thinking nice, I like the way it feels. Quality materials, nice sound etc. Then I pull out into traffic and accelerate hard. I've driven a lot of front wheel drive cars in my day but the torque steer on this thing is ridiculous.

All the way home it pulls hard right then left everytime I get on it it. Almost scary. Did a quick google search when I got home and evidently this is not an isolated case.

I would never buy this piece of crap engineering. C'mon Ford! You can do better.

That's just the big problem with big torque FWD cars, it's a bitch. I've had a couple Acura TL's, excellent cars, but 300HP to the front wheels is not fun to drive, that's why i bought a BMW. The Ultimate Driving machine. :)

I have had the new Explorer for a loaner and they do the same thing.

The answer to torque steer is AWD.

True, Vash, as long as it's not the type that is front drive until it senses wheel slippage. Don't know how Ford's works.

Just heard from the the dealer. They're overnighting a new heating element for the driver's seat and rear springs. I had mentioned this morning that something was making a squeek when I come to a stop and start out again. Damned if they didn't think I just need a new set of springs!:banana-mario:

Just back from an oil change/rotation at the dealer. Black "Police Interceptor" Explorer pulls in after my Raptor; could've sworn it was an Edge. Couple of departments were out playing good guy/bad guy tag. They had a Tahoe chasing down the Explorer, went down a ravine and "POP"...Explorer ran into a curb.

Bent the rim pretty good.

I have never thought of Ford as a leader in anything. They make good mid range vehicles. I have a 2012 GT500 that I wish I could get rid of without giving it away. Never again.. Trucks ok but sports cars not a chance.

You can only go so far with American made cars. If you want nice quality cars, look German. Even the $80k escalade is junk. Now look at a new range rover. Huge difference for the same money
