Tick Tick Tick?

Coming home tonight and backed up into my drive way as I normally do but had my window down.
When I got between my house and my neighbours house which they're close, I heard "tick tick tick tick".
My wife looked at me and my jaw dropped. Oh SHIT!
When the truck just sits there idling you don't hear anything, but when I placed my foot on the brake and gave it gas then realeased the gas it would Tick.
Any thoughts? Bad lifter maybe?

Mine ticked for a while and sounded like a lifter - but the synthetic oil made it go away.

I'll try to do a video tomorrow. I believe it is both forward or reverse but I'll check better tomorrow.

Well my last oil change was a ford change so I believe it is the blend that's in right now, but I've never heard it until now.

Your 5.4 right ? that engine has always been famous for ticking but if its louder then normal I would have it checked out..

This morning nothing. But it was cooler outside so maybe the extra heat has something to do with it.
I can hear ticking but it's never been as loud as this. Yesterday I could make it happen just by holding the brake so that it doesn't move
and give it a burst of gas to rev good. As the revs would start to come back down a sec or 2 later a loud rumble of ticking would show up then disappear.
Maybe it was just a fluke, who knows.

Could it be your exhaust manifolds?
