4 wheel drive or sport mode?

which do you think is faster? 4H, or sport mode? sport mode is fast once you get going but there is no traction when first taking off. with 4H you can take off like a rocket from the get go.

You can select sport mode in 2H/4H/4A. You just need to select the drive mode first then the transfer case adjustment.

4A while already in Sport mode is going to diminish your wheelspin. The truck’s transfer case can divert torque through the wet multi-plate clutch arrangement while in 4A that won’t damage the truck on pavement.

As others have said, don’t use 4H on pavement. Also frankly I wouldn’t use 4A for extended periods of time on dry pavement either.

As others have said, don’t use 4H on pavement. Also frankly I wouldn’t use 4A for extended periods of time on dry pavement either.

There's no harm to using 4A. It is made for on road use in all conditions. If you are going to be using sport mode seriously, it is the setting of choice.

Only downside to running 4A all the time is decreased fuel economy and a bit more wear on components.
