Hello All, i have a 2011 Raptor 6.2 the other day i was in 4 wheel and went to turn on a ice packed road, all of a sudden in a left turn there was a loud POP. I stopped and shifted out of 4x4 and then back in.......it felt like it went in, a slight thump like always but it made the loud POP again when i went to turn........it seems ok going in a straight line but turn the wheel it POPs......if i shift out of 4 wheel it runs fine in 2 wheel. Any help is appreciated !!!!!

This is a common characteristic of modern 4WD systems. Nothing is wrong other than your truck knows you shouldn't be in 4WD.

4WD does not equal AWD.

Don't like the answer then go somewhere else no need to be rude.
Your 4WD system is getting too much traction, creating binding, just like it would during normal operation on dry pavement.

Or its entirely broken. You choose what you want to believe.
Until then, have a great day.

Better?

For real how about you explain your comment.....try reading the whole post about "icey Roads" and if you and clever are so KNOWLEDGABLE share it , i thought that is what forums are for??????
yes. this is what forums are for. sure it took me longer to do this than just point it out, but a smart ass comment deserves one back. so let me help you so you dont have others jumping on you either. and yes, its ANOTHER 4wd noise with the wheels turned. im sure you can find exactly what you are looking for.IMG_20240117_125630.jpgIMG_20240117_125418.jpgScreenshot_2024-01-17-12-50-10-78_3aea4af51f236e4932235fdada7d1643.jpgIMG_20240117_125452.jpg
