That happened to a friend of mines F150. He was driving down the highway and he noticed smoke billowing out the rear. He pulled over and WOOOHHHFF! The fire was coming out from under the front wheel wells. He jumped out and the whole truck was fully engulfed in just a few minutes. Burned it down...
I've had a few people approach me asking if I was interested in selling mine. I've gotten notes put under the wiper asking the same with a phone number to call. It gets a little annoying but I take it as a compliment. I have no intentions of ever selling.
Standard published minimum contract specification requirements. 64lpm, SNR 25, Halo max of 1, EBI 3. Those are the numbers I look at. In reality, most Omni-VIII tubes I've seen perform way better than that. I'd have to send those into Ident Marking to have them tested for actual specs.
As much money as alot of the people spend on their Raptors, they could have a great set of top of the line night vision binos (and a backup set) and all the required accessories to run pistols and rifles with said night vision.
Not really a "What did you do to your Raptor today" post but I recently acquired a pair of really clean and crispy set of night vision image intensifier tubes to swap into my Mod3b Manual Gain Night Vision Goggles.
The Omni-VII tubes were fine, but I can get a bit more low light performance...
The longer the 7.3 is out, there will be more and more aftermarket support for the motor and swaps into other vehicles that require electronics to run. When I see that there are 7.3L Godzillas going into our beloved Gen 1 Raptor with few issues, I'll be seriously considering it.
Watched the video on the Megazilla and holy moly, I'm doing the swap if the 6.2L dies or it just gets too worn out. That Megazilla and a 10R80 will be a potent combo. Hopefully by then there will be a much bigger aftermarket support.
As the old adage goes, there's no replacement for displacement. These little motors can produce some impressive numbers, but they must work so much harder. I dont see longevity in something that has to kick and scream all the time to get the job done. The big motors do it while screaming, harder...
I got a Sync 3 upgrade from a guy I found in one of the Facebook Raptor groups. 100% good to go and is a true plug and play. Totally satisfied with it and is good to go in my book...
I have a much better experience here now that I have FTO on ignore. He may be good for some things in the Gen 2 and 3 sections, but he needs to stay away from the Gen 1 discussions. The more Gen 1 owners that have him on ignore, the much better and more informative the Gen 1 discussions will be...
I had a slight issue when I installed the Sync 3 module at first. I messaged him on FB, he gave me a few pointers to help. I had changed some settings in Forscan so I had to reinstall the Sync 2, and go back to stock in Forscan, and do a master reset on Sync 2. I had to unhook the battery, wait...
Looks great, I don't know why anyone wants to do an aftermarket grill. Ford got it close to perfect with OEM. I added the Texas Flag "Ford" from Rappy Graphics right after I got my Raptor. Gives it just enough splash of color to offset the black.
