Should be interesting to see how it plays out with gen 1 prices. I'm contemplating the exit timing strategy myself. Would hate to see values go down $10K practically overnight.

I hear a lot of guys say they don't care how much they drop but 10k is 10k...

I will most likely wait to see what happens. If the Gen 1's hold their value like they are now, I will probably go new, unless they are asking $65k+. If not, I will look for a Gen 1 that spent its life mall crawling.

It happens with every model that gets surpassed with a new model. You'll have a period of time to sell where you can still get good money. That time is typically before hard numbers are revealed, order banks open and mags do their reviews. So basically now.

I got out of my Gen 1 at the right time. Got great money for it and traded it in in VERY rough shape.

I personally think there will be a 2-4 month window once the Gen 2 hits dealer lots. Ford will most likely be slow to roll them out in quantity so gen 1's should still be in somewhat demand.

That's what I'm hoping for at least because I'll be Guinea Pigging myself with one of the first gen 2's to hit the family lot and I don't want to go raptor-less at all.

then they may come back I don't mind either way I'd absolutely like them to stay up but not going to get me to sell unless I'm in dire straits.

I'll buy your '17 off you after the prices plummet on the announcement of the unicorn, rainbow ********, twin turbo V8
