The new 2011 dodge is a lot nicer than the 2011 super duties. I'm about even on looks. And the best part is a LOADED new Long horn ram is $54k vs a King ranch which is $65k! I looked at a king at the dealer, pretty nice but not like that new dodge. And to make it better dodge is pushing more power out of the cummins. 386hp and 800ftlbs.

Still not as much power. But it's not all about that. IMO the ford is built better. Dodges interiors are a huge fail in my eyes. I don't see why you like it so much, but I guess everyone has their own opinions.

Hand stitched leather dash, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, actual NICE leather in the seats, and the steering wheel doesn't look like a giant square in the middle. Go look at the Long horn edition 3500, not big horn. I think you will be surprised. Dodge has really stepped up this time.

I've seen it. It's hideous. That wood grain makes me wanna puke. And knowing dodge the quality is crap. Our van is just terrible quality inside and it's top of the line leather etc. Squeaks, groans, the wind noise it let's in is terrible. Just my experience with Chrysler products has given me views that even if it looks nice doesn't mean it is.

My buddy just bought a 2011 Ram Sport 1500 with the 5.7. Crew Cab, Leather/Cloth sport seats, the uConnect system (which is ********), Navigation/DVD, Rear Camera and 20" wheels.

So, as of now he has about 5,200 miles on it. He has had to warranty replace one wheel, one wheel bearing/hub, a BENT track bar and then one of the tires blew out and the dealership gave him a BSW tire when all the other three are OWL.

I've driven it a few times and here are my thoughts:

It's quick. I think it would run with the Raptor; us being heavier and more weight on the end of the axles to turn, but I think we'd be even. The rear view camera is not located in the center and you think the 2011 F-Series camera has bad resolution?! Use the Ram! Then, the GPS is Garmin based and looks like a cartoon. In order to use a CD, you have to have the motorized screen turn off, flip down, load up the CD and then fold it back up. It's just a pain.

While I am talking about the Navigation, I love the fact that on the Ford, you can hit the home button and see the Nav, radio and climate controls all on one screen. In the Ram, you have Nav only, or the other crap.

The interior to me feels chincy, not well refined but I do like the buttons on the back-side of the steering wheel to change radio stations and volume.

All in all, he said that if he could have afforded a Raptor he would have gotten a Ford, but he couldn't so he got the Ram.

I drive my buddies loaded up 09 while waiting for my screw. He had a programmer on it which I think it would have beat my raptor stock. I hated getting in that thing. Of course I had already had a raptor, so I knew why I was missing. The seats in those things are brutally hard. Personally I didn't care for the steering wheel controls. Your buddy should have bought fx4 at least.

That's what I told him. I found him a great deal on a 2010 FX4 loaded up with damn near $10k off in rebates and X-Plan, but he "needed" a 2011. Whatever. There are more reasons I don't talk to him anymore.

Ya I have to admit the controls on the back of the steering wheel need to change. I never looked into the GPS as I didn't need it, my raptor just had one already, I wanted the half cloth/half leather seats in the sport.
What really made me like it was that it had a msrp at $41k, and dodge was dealing really well at the time and we worked a deal of $30k OTD after taxes and everything. Thats a good deal in my view for really any vehicle. And, that was before the trade in too which they were giving us kbb private party price.
So when you look around for a truck that you can get for $30k, the dodge really shined. It was that or a tacoma. I looked at the f150 but a $30k on is pretty cheap inside, and they weren't dealing too much.
We went to look at the raptor just before we signed to be sure. They had one and of course it had every option on it so it was $45. And they DEF were not moving on prices. But, my parents got a truck for me as a congratulations gift and my mom knew I really wanted a raptor as my life revolved around off road living. So, thats what I got.
I never have second thoughts about O what if I had gotten the dodge I may have been happier or anything. I have a raptor, it doesn't get better than the BEST.

I hate to say it, but I think the Ram Runner is going to wax some Raptor ass...

I still love my truck though.
