proof dealers know squat..... when i bought my 19 the dealer ordered as many as he could , had 45 in stk at one time had 45. I asked , why so many at the end of a model year. He said , oh we heard there wont be a R for 2020. I said yes there is , its already known and there is talk of a few changes. Our economy is shit and they had trouble selling any. Then the 20s came out and then they knew the 20 was the end of a run and ordered even more. Then the panic set in and for the first time you could buy at well under msrp. 10 under for a 20 and 12 under for a 19. Canadian. I told them why are you doing this , there wont be any Rs til 2022? You will be able to sell these at or near msrp. Nope they sold a bunch at cost. Now they know there wont be any Rs til close to 22 and now they have very bfew and want msrp.

So when a dealer says" this is what happening......" remember , they know shit.

I'm tempted to go to CarMax, just to see what they would offer.
The problem is, I don't know of anything I would replace my Raptor with. I find the TRX interesting but 700HP isn't really doing anything for me. Not to mention you can't get a TRX right now. All my local dealers are sold out.

I originally bought the Raptor over the Gladiator (which has been a very smart move) I don't think I can go back to a small truck.

The only realistic reason I can see for selling my Raptor is to go down to one car for a while and save up for a 2022 Raptor. I work from home, so I can easily pull that off. My wife and I could just drive her Jeep for now. We're planning to trade that Jeep in for a Bronco Warthog, when it is released.
This was my thinking exactly. Market is good. We have 4 cars between the wife and I so I could unload it while the market is good and just wait for a 2022. I also have a pretty much loaded Avalanche Gray screw which seems to be popular on the used raptor market. I haven't been able to convince myself I want to daily drive anything else though.

My fully loaded ‘19 SCREW (802/tech/carbon/Recaros/twin panel/etc) with only 9500 miles seems to currently book for 70k+ according to KBB and NADA private party value. Even with a generous margin for error on that, it’s been getting harder and harder to turn away from the smart financial opportunity of selling right now...

Even with a generous margin for error on that, it’s been getting harder and harder to turn away from the smart financial opportunity of selling right now...

So what trucks are priced better?

OK, I just looked at Tacos. The 2020s are $50k+ and the 2021s are $10k cheaper. That's weird. Did Toyota do another redesign that reduces their capability again?

Feel exactly the same. There’s nothing else I want and my ‘20 802A is everything I want/need.

We both work from home too, but with another baby coming, wife may not let me get another Raptor if I sell this one. hahahah

For me it wouldn’t be about finding an equivalent replacement, more like redistributing funds to other hobbies instead. This truck was an impulse buy that I really didn’t need in the first place, although it has grown on me...

I guess I have the opposite reaction to the current Raptor market. I could sell it and profit a few thousand bucks off it, but what do you do then? Virtually *any* other vehicle you replace it with will depreciate much more quickly than a Raptor, so you'd immediately 'lose' whatever money you gained from selling the Raptor.

The depreciation curve right now is making me smile because it means I don't have to worry about racking up miles or losing my ass any time I might want or need to sell it. I don't care that my '19 is worth more than I paid for it, I care that a '14 model with 100k miles is still worth almost $40k.

I agree, I'm looking at a commuter car just to keep the miles on the truck down to "social driving" and maintain it's value. Might get a smaller car for work and just rip the truck on the weekends.
