The eliminators don't lock the truck into 4wd at all times, they just lock the hubs to the axles. Transfer case will still only engage the rear driveshaft.

Let’s say the front axle shafts are spinning while driving in 2wd. Based on the IWE system not being engaged because of the vacuum pressure keeping the hubs disengaged. This would mean I don’t have enough vacuum occurring and technically it’s driving with the hubs engaged?

Or worse - it's barely making connection. So kinda floating in the in between zone and grinding everything down. This is why some folks get that kinda grinding metallic noise from IWE issues.

have you pulled the codes? Code P193C is a steering wheel angle code, this can cause the exact symptoms you had. with the noise and stability control lights coming on.
