Yours is super clean for Minnesota!

I specifically searched for a southern vehicle. This will be its first winter up here. A coworker has an ‘11 F-150 that has spent its life here. I could push my fingers through his rockers if I wanted.

In that case you better put something on to protect it, fluid film or something, it will creep up over the years if you don't. You're starting with a good truck though.

I’m prepped, but not sure I want to pull the trigger on the woolwax gun. This truck is super clean. I’d rather not make a huge overspray mess underneath.

I removed step rails for better access to clean/prep. I’m leaving them off for winter. They will collect chunks of salty snow and ice AND will be much easier to pressure wash rockers. Looking to put/make some front mud flaps for rock protection.

Is this the drain design for the rockers? They appear to be located near each factory taped hole…

When i washed out my rockers i didnt see any water come out there. So idk if it was blocked or its just a crimp. It came out at the ends and a couple other spots.

I know what you mean but in order to keep it that way it needs to be protected unfortunately. I believe they do make a wool wax clear if that makes any difference.

This wool wax is interesting stuff. Appears nothing sticks to it. Sloppy mess around here now, and looks like I just applied…..

I'm thinking of trying that stuff out once spring rolls around and I get the truck out of storage. I was able to get my rockers all cleaned out, Gorilla taped, and sealed the cab corner holes before it went into storage. I still need to relocate the sunroof drains and change the third brake light as well.

Waxoyl makes it look more factory and less messy but either one is great. Ive used both.

Yea, I figure I'll look more into it once I get closer to spring time and it's warm enough and no more salt on the roads. Probably won't be for at least a few months here yet. Figured it's best to just keep it out of the salt for now, plus it's at the bodyshop getting reworked anyways.
