I can't wait until the 6.2L is on the same playing field as the 5.8L, that engine was horrible when it first came out (the original iteration of it back in the 90s), look at it now, top v-8 on the planet and the only engine over 600 horsepower that avoids the gas guzzler tax, despite European manufacturers' claims to being "advanced", the 6.2 can already get 17-18 easily if you drove it like you'd drive an ecoboost to get mpg, not long and the 6.2L will get 22-25 just as easily

Even in a raptor

Not arguing with u just very curious who is easily getting 17-18 mpg in the 6.2? I couldn't hit 16mpg on a long road trip. I hope they do find a way to get better mpg out of the 6.2 but without all this aerodynamic damper ********

I've gotten 17-18 whenever I go on road trips, just have to maintain 65, that's not the best I've gotten either, and that's on the crap we get in california

Before wheels and tires I'd average -16.5-17 back and forth to work. 45 mile trip of mixed highway and local roads.

Part of the reason for the 6.2 was the EB utilizes the servo assist steering, which wasn't powerful or reliable enough for the larger tires on the raptor

Loved my raptors 6.2 but on the hwy with the 37 inch tires on top perch got at the best 15 at best mpg at 65 with no headwind. With the fleet average coming down because of this engine doubt very seriously if Ford will leave it as is.

This was from my trip up to the casino today across the Oklahoma border. Set the trip odometer when I pulled out of the driveway and took this pic in the parking lot at Winstar. 35 in tires with 6in lift 2014 6.2 DI with a tune and exhaust. It can be done....
