Iphone issue

I have had my 2012 raptor for two years now and today it started doing something out of no where. I have my iphone 4 paired with sync and have always used it just fine. today when I would select an artist it would play the song but not let me skip to another artist by hitting the forward arrow on the nav. I had always been able to do this in the past, it would just go to a random artist and play the song. Any ideas? Thanks.

best guess is the software. Its a little hinky sometimes. I have always paired my phone too sync and I would say only about 75% of the time, my texts actually pop up in sync. They've told us sync can do all these cool things and I'm learning more and more the downfalls of it...
