How the heck do I get a flashlight out of here??

I was using a 1" diameter LED to examine swirls/scratched and I had it sitting on the wiper cowl. When I moved a rag it lined itself up beautifully and slid down along the fender, right into that gap where the fender is bolted on under the hood.

Who the hell thought it was a good idea to have tool eating gap there?? Worst design ever.

And where the hell did it go?

There is no way that this has not happened to someone else. Any wrench or screwdriver would fit down too and I can't be the only dummy who puts tools on the cowl.

Is there a fast way to find it?

You have to remove the fender or chock it up to lost...

Yeah, why didn't they design a tool screen / guard to keep stuff from going there? LOL!!!

Pull the inner liner - it' behind there......

go in behind the front tire on the bottom. if it fell all the way down like the bolts do, its sitting right in front of the sidestep

Pull back the inner fender liner. You may have to take out a couple screws at the bottom.

you could always leave it. that way if you ever break down at night, you know where a light is

what size flashlight can I fit in my fenders without hammering the pinch weld?

If it's not at the bottom you could also pull off the svt air vent on the side of the fender and get your hand in there to feel around.
