How many miles do you have and what problems have you had?

Umm...no. I have a 2008 Titan with a 5.6L V8 with a Magnaflow exhaust and a Superchips 93 octane performance tune. I drove a Raptor with the 6.2 and it was as fast if not faster than my Titan and my truck scoots. Now the 5.4L is a different story. I drove a lifted 2010 Platinum on 35" Terra Grapplers and it couldn't get out of its own way.

Hey! my 5.4 is less than a second slower down the strip than your beasty 6.2. Thats pretty good since I am 100hp shy of the 6.2

Wow, bad mouthing the raptor much??? Its not the same transmission from the lambo. If you had the auto in the lambo, the car doesn't move unless you push the gas, the raptor is not that. Anything that weighs 6000+ lbs will feel under powered coming from any super car. And build quality is actually quite good for american trucks. You just had a car filled with audi stuff.

I've never driven a 5.4 Raptor though. I misspoke in my statement. I meant the 5.4L as in the old truck not the 5.4 Raptor. Didn't the 5.4 Raptor have different tuning/transmission?

it's the same transmission but the engine and trans are controlled by 2 separate control modules on the 5.4's, where the 6.2 has 1 control module for both.

supposedly some of the shifting complaints 5.4 owners had was due to the 2 computers communicating more slowly than 1 main control module.

there's a ton of data that has to be passed between the engine and trans control modules and just that extra split second for the two computers to play nice is what causes some of the hard shifts, hesitation and gear hunting on the 5.4.

with that being said the 6.2 also experiences the same problems, just not quite as bad. the point is that there's a ton of information being put out by the engine and trans and sometimes instant response and performance is put on the back burner by the truck basically wanting to always stay in a higher more fuel efficient gear.
