I think it'll look good in the smoked Raptor/Harley/FX4 version. I bet they're going to be Halogen lights though because of the vehicle's height. But that's nothing a little D4S/D2S swap can't take care of.

My thoughts exactly. Im assuming thats the bulb type ? Im not familiar with what other Ford vehicles with HID come with.

If that is the case a Osram SVS swap would produce 8400 lumen headlights !

Ahh..I just realized you'd have to buy the bulb, ballast, and igniter though. You couldn't just do a bulb swap, you'd have to just install a kit with the factory provided projector.

Do they make that Osram kit in any other color temps besides 4200K? I hate the yellow white and would much prefer a 6000K set up. Maybe 5000K if it had a nice blue cut-off line.

Yes you would need bulb ballast and H13 harness but thats very simple to install. It then becomes a question of what kind of performance does the projector have and Ive also been reading about blind spots in the light pattern when you put a HID bulb in a halogen projector.

And yes Osram makes 5000K, I have a set in my shop. Lumen rating is a little less then the 4300K - D2S: Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI - HID Bulbs from The Retrofit Source Inc

Ducati,

Please explain for this novice (me) why a 5000k would have a lower lumen rating then the 4300K...

kelvin rating measures the color output of the bulb, not the brightness. the higher you go in kelvin the more the color output turns blue and the less lumen's it produces. around 4300k is where the color of the light produces the most lumen.

at least thats how I understand it, lol. not that Im a expert. BajaDesigns has a great thread on lumen output, they can explain it better them me. hahaha.

just got a email from my headlight rep, he has the may catalog and they are not available as of yet.

If anyone can find a part number on them I can find out pricing and availability. most likely - DL3Z 13008-??

As soon as they are available he will be sending me a set.
