I'm looking hard at icons, not that there is anything wrong with Deavers (other than these), just from what I've have read they seem to be a better set for loads

Icons have only been out a few months with a handful of people having them. No way to say how they'll hold up.

Not nocking them, just have minimal exposure

Have called the guys at Deaver yet? They're a good bunch of guys I'm sure the can do something for you. Side note, their shop is pretty cool, it's an old blacksmiths shop.

Thats a material issue, even with reputable mills you occasionally get bad/suspect material. I don't see any other way it would break in that location, keep the part that broke off they may want to send it out for a full material testing (CMTR) at a lab.
