I have the OEM Ford HID headlights and Drivers side headlight no longer working.
Anyone else have the bulb burn out early? I have very few miles on them but do have DRL's. :whymewhyme:
Oh by the way Ford wants a small fortune just for the bulb!

They are new genuine Ford but did not buy from a Ford dealer, would they still warranty?

hmmm now see this is the hard part. is it the bulb? or is it the ballast? did u switch the drive bulb with the passenger bulb? just to check? hid bulbs generally dont "burn out" as i understand they just get dimmer with age unless they get cracked or somthing. hid's have always been tricky and expensive. not sure if u checked on amazon or rockauto for the bulb/ballast

Boss, I would love to change them to Osram but I don't think they make an Osram for the OEM headlight yet, correct me if I am wrong.
Have not checked to see if it is actually the bulb yet, I was just assuming but could be the ballast perhaps.
Ford in Canada wants $420.00 for a bulb wonder what a ballast would be?

To check if it is the ballast, switch the bulbs from side to side.

Thanks guys! that's good advice about switching the bulbs back and forth. Why didn't I think of that? :happy107:
