It's a computer with wheels. That's one of my biggest worries. Mine wouldn't shift out of 4L last week until I cycled the ignition. Shift in progress on the display, then it said it had shifted, but no. I tried backing up, neutral, forward, neutral, retrying each time I was in neutral. No joy. I thought I was going to have to drive 450 miles home in 4L. I turned it off, restarted it, and it worked fine, first try. Effing computers. I hate them. Top software guys go to Silicon Valley, they go to Seattle, they go to Wall Street, they start their own companies, but they don't go to Detroit. If worst comes to worst out in the boonies, be prepared to disconnect the battery for a full reset. It doesn't help to change brands, they're all rolling computers these days. First world problems, I guess. The good news is that neither of us is likely to experience our problem ever again. Just a glitch.
