I purchased a 2014 Roush Stg2 about 2 years ago after totaling my 2011. I received a recall in the mail stating i needed to bring my truck in for a recall. To sum it up, it states that the truck will downshift to 2nd gear without warning at interstate speeds causing the back tires to slide and possibly death....reading further into it, it looks to be a ECM flash? they need the truck for a few hours and no parts will be changed. I do not know what program is on my truck, it had the Roush SC, intake, and full exhaust when i purchased it. Should i bring it to them? How do i find out what tune is on my truck?

Don't let the dealer flash it, most likely they won't be able to anyway.
Not having the original Tune for the Roush is going to give you headaches.

Get a OBDII scanner get all the info you can and start calling. Start with Roush.

Thanks for that information man!! I was wanting to do the smaller pulley and cobra jet intake upgrade but i was worried about the tuning situation. So you're thinking Roush can send me the tune i have? Or that they will send me a new tune?

MTF, thank you for this solid info! My boost gauge shows 8# solid when i hammer down at sea level.

I have done the fuse 27 upgrade, changed out 4 OEM power steering pumps (the dealership blamed them on the supercharger) so i recently installed the Lee Power Steering upgrade kit 8 days ago.

I was looking at the JDM 700 for ~$1,600 its the new plugs, XCT programmer, smaller puly and the 68mm TB.
would that be the easiest route to go than working with Roush for the original tune? I tried a few times to contact Roush and they haven't replied to my emails yet. If i do get this kit, will i need to adjust it when traveling to Tennessee coming from sea level?

Do you have HE fans?
Without them the HE blocks and will heat the air that's supposed to cool the power steering cooler.

Most likely your truck will have the standard Roush tune. Its not very good to be honest, but any Roush authorized Ford dealer should be able to pull the data on that truck. I would call Jim at JDM @JimIII@JDM
regarding the strategy and getting his SC tune. It will change the personality of your truck, especially the transmission.
Im curious if I will receive the recall on my 2014, as this Lead Frame recall was supposed to stop at the 2013 model.

On the steering rack.. Im on the stock rack (100,000 miles). I would put money on it that your Ford dealer just bolts parts on and does not flush the lines and cooler. Crap in the lines and cooler just keeps eating pumps. Saw it first hand on my buddies 2013.. 3 racks/pumps before they replaced everything.

Here is a copy of the letter i received in March.

The nearest Roush dealer from me is 20 hours, my dealership wouldn't even order the Roush serpentine belt, and they have voided anything related to the power steering pump from my warranty.

As for the PS pump, i just went with Lee and their system by-passes the factory cooler that is shared with the AC condenser from what i read, most ppl call it the PS heater. Now after i installed the Lee system, i feel slight jerky feelings in the wheel when im offroad at low speeds and hit small ruts. Almost like the wheel will stop turning for a split second before continuing. I called Lee and the guy there says their pump moves more fluid than factory pump, and that there are small orifices i the rack that may be restricting the full flow therefore backing up the pressure to where i feel it. I only have about 200 miles on the new system, and after all the problems with the PS system i have had, im on edge with everything i feel in the wheel now.Recall.jpg

I'm guessing you mean high efficiency fans? If its an aftermarket add on then no there aren't any added fans other than the factory electric fan. The Lee system eliminated the OEM cooler anyways.
