Note to self---never buy used trucks from the coast. How many miles on this truck? Mine still looks almost new (22k) except where the brush goes across the frame. How do you get one to rust out this fast?

80k miles. I live on the coast, don't know what else to say. I wash it thoroughly every time I go to the beach. Price of awesomeness I guess.

Looking at the pics, It almost looks like the slot where the lower control arm hooks up that there there is evidence that that washer has been at both ends of the slot. Is that spose to be a slot? That would make a hell of a racket!

My truck died that one time making a right into a gas station. Every now and then it will be idling and get a stumble nut not die. I know when fueling if the motor is running that the idle is way eratic.

Recently aligned.

I pulled the intake off and took a look at the throttle body, it was a little gunked up, dust mixed with a little bit of oil or something. I can't tell where the dust is getting in. There is no dust back at the air flow sensor, so it has to be further back.

Dust down the manifold too.

Ran the truck for another 20 minutes idling tonight after I put it all back together, no issues there.

Also, I had my neighbor jump on my bumper while I was under the truck. The slip yolk makes a lot of noise, it sounds like it has a lot of play/some binding.

Wonder if you have some version of "the clunk" even though it's not the same way other were hearing it.

Ok I don't know nuthin much about anything... but is there oil in the CV axle? When we had mine apart, it was all super thick grease... no oil to be found anywhere to weep like what you're seeing. ??

With that in mind, this pic sure makes it look to me like the shock is leaking oil.

Maybe the CV is (relatively) fine but the shock is blown?

what's that called that powers the wheel the drive it looks like it is low to me but I haven't looked at mine 80k of jumping it's held up pretty good if you ask me but might be time to do a overhaul like you've stated the stage 3 or whatever good luck.

I see what your saying as well. May be the BigJ drive joint thread all over again. I would say a pissed off CV joint could make his noise. Top perch carnage maybe?
