Dodge to discontinue V8 Hellcat (TRX), What does that mean for Raptor R?

This entire discussion is why:

1) I will keep my Gen 1 when my Gen 3 arrives.
2) I am #1 on my dealers list for an R allocation.

I don't have anything to lose if they don't produce the "R". But if they do, it could very well be the last gen V8.

I'm not interested in getting rid of my v8 vehicles but I would be interested in an EV for sure. 30 - 50 years, bro, you're smoking crack, lol. You better get rid of Biden and get Trump back in office if you want that to be true, even so, we are out numbered by people who think different. EV's are coming and the sooner you get on board with that idea, the less crying you will do later on. Don't take this as being harsh, I'm laughing, it's just the internet.

Agreed. I have a Mach-E on order for the wife. I just couldn't justify buying an ICE vehicle for her when thinking about resale in 5 to 10 years.

I believe the Rivian and Lightning are perfect ideas, but an electric Raptor just isn't feasible. I regularly drive 200+ miles to get to a desert, then two to three 300+ off-road mile days, then 200 home. We generally have 5 to 10 trucks and no rural desert charging station is going to have more than 4, so now we're waiting for the 45+ min multiple times over. That isn't even mentioning Baja, where charging stations aren't going to be a regular thing for quite a long time.

Yup. Last time I looked, there was one charging station in all of Eastern Utah, at the visitor center in Blanding. That's a short leash.

Oh I’m pretty sure we’ll see this EV push prematurely materialize in one way or another much sooner than 30 years, but what I’m saying is that it won’t work….and we’ll return/remain using combustion engines. The whole charging/battery/power grid infrastructure is still in its infancy.

The Lightning and even the Rivian are great concepts. It would be great to see them succeed. But just imagine everyone buys them and the use of electricity skyrockets and the power grids keep failing and battery production halts due to limited lithium etc etc. I don’t know, I think we’re far from that reality.

I agree, but, around where I live in British Columbia, we do have a lot of charging stations that aren't being utilized yet. There is still more work to be done, don't get me wrong, but I am already seeing more and more EV's on the road here. We do pay a lot more for fuel then the US, not sure what you pay per litre, but we are at 1.52/litre in my town for regular 87, 94 was 1.80's/litre last I looked.

Here in California, premium runs $5.29 in my area. Roughly $1.49/liter (about 1.77/liter in CAD).
