CAI looks cool but in my experience, very little to none in terms of gains. This also comes from my tuner as well.

Reminds me of when I used to flip the air filter cover on my GMC pick up. Hillbilly horsepower lol

I don't know a lot about CAI, but I did think you'd have to tune the engine also to take advantage of it. The engine is set to take in only so much air as is.

However, I don't doubt the OP's honesty and veracity.

And you are entitled to your opinion on Ford performance. My 1970 Mach I Super Cobra Jet R Code Drag Pack Mustang, my 2007 Shelby GT500, my 2016 Focus RS, my 2019 Raptor, and my 2006 Ford GT says I’m entitled to mine.

Quoting the cars you own / have driven on the internet is just like correcting someones grammar / spelling on the internet. it means you lost the argument.

say all you want but Cobb says zero gain from their intake and nothing from their downpipes.

that being said...

my truck went from "meh" to breaking the tires loose shifting into third afterward.

and before you ask, no, I didn't dyno.

I also don't measure my ****. :3638400157_e7de35b0

the truck is plenty fast and I really don't need anything else to brag about.

whatever the difference the two parts made for me was worth it.

:GetMoney:
Just curious. Do you not measure your pocket puppet cause you know it’s HUGE, or cause you can’t bear to use a micrometer to measure? ;)

My lady likes to say, " if I didn't "know you", and I saw you driving one of your vehicles, I'd 100% think you're compensating for being under-endowed. But since I know you, I'm at a loss."

never had a complaint and don't wet my balls when I take a ****, so I'm good.

If you're in your 30s and measure your tackle, you did something wrong, or you're hoping the ***** *********** pills finally started working.

Quoting the cars you own / have driven on the internet is just like correcting someones grammar / spelling on the internet. it means you lost the argument.

disclaimer: not directed at you in any way, shape or form:

If you type shit that you wouldn't say to another man in person, face to face, you lose automatically. No one else even needs to understand it, but the keyboard cowboy, if they're honest with themselves, KNOWS they don't have a leg to stand on.

saying the same shit in person would create a situation where someone like me would leave, then come back in 20 mins driving the most expensive, fastest car in my stable, just to prove the point.

you never know who you're speaking with. some of the most experienced and richest people that I've ever met are 100% unassuming in person.

aka... you'd NEVER guess who is a 3 comma **** with a g650 chilling in their personal hangar and who is a broke-**** **** cruisin a clapped out 2001 honda prelude.

Don't assume. don't be rude. just be nice.

Jus' sayin.

I like the CAI because of the reusable filter, but of course you don't need to buy the whole unit to get that. For the record, I'm all about spending my hard earned money however I want.

It's all about what you want to believe, if you think it makes more power and more sound then go for it. I have owned my own auto repair shop for over 45 years and there's always a snake salesman out there trying to sell you something.

if i'm honest with myself, I did the downpipes and CAI because I'm pretty much running out of shit to upgrade on my truck.

I wanted to clean up the way the engine bay looked, so i cleaned up all my wiring ( adding nice, clean chafe-guard and loom routing, ordered an engine cover for a 19, put the CAI in, went with a much cleaner catch can, did an aluminum coolant overflow tank and cleaned like hell.

while I didn't expect any gains, I got a very noticeable gain.

I was running cobb's OTS stage 2 tune before.

I am running it post upgrades.

It was a very noticeable difference in just about every aspect, except for the extreme top end of the power band, which now feels more sluggish, but that couse be because the map needs to taper off before shift points to not grenade the trans/tcase and to satiate the torque management gods inside the truck.

YMMV, but I was pleasantly surprised.
