What is the current protection you have in the picture? I'm looking for something similar for my dogs.
If you are referring to the dog crates, the single crate was a special order from https://kustomkrates.com/. It also has two drawers that attach to the right side of the crate that are 9” deep and 42” long. A few years ago total cost was about $8k. The duel crate was also a custom order from http://www.roguecustomcrates.com/. It is 42” long and 48” wide and the cost was about $4500. I would not order anything from either company again. Upon delivery, the single crate had a huge issue with the locking mechanism and I was told to send it back at my expense for repair. After repair, he would pay to send it back to me. Shipping cost to Texas was about $700 and the turn around time was going to be several months. I took it to a metal fabricator and had it fixed for $200. The duel crate came with a very flimsy partition to keep the dogs separated. It never would have worked. I took it to another fabricator and it cost me about $450 to have a higher quality partition manufactured. I am actually in the market for another custom single crate constructed of aluminum. If someone knows a company that does excellent work, please let me know! The fans in the picture were purchased from https://www.prairielogic.com/

I forgot to mention the drawers pictured with the single crate was ordered from https://elitetruck.com/collections/...MIhaL0vY6T_QIV7AGtBh001A1HEAAYASAAEgLPrPD_BwE. They cost about $5k. It you want to know how I equipped the rear passenger compartment with the dog in the pic, let me know and I will send links.

The issue is, sometime around June I get a second Malinois and the two dogs will need the entire rear floor.

You'll still have it, just that the passenger side will be about a foot higher than the drivers side. If they can't handle the height difference, build in a slope. This seems 10 times better than trying to place heavy luggage above the dogs.

Sorry, no, I meant what looks like floor protection and a screen to prevent the pup from jumping up to the front seats.

On the floor I have a Primo Pad, size made to order

The screen is a Bushwhacker, but I only have the bottom portion of the screen installed.

Maybe consider building a half box with a ramp that once the dogs in, the ramp would lift up level with the fixed side, Like a 60/40 split seats you would have storage under and keep the visibility which always makes it easier to drive.

Many people on this forum are like you, very talented and can build stuff. I can train a dog for war and shoot, but otherwise my skill set limited. Honestly I thought that someone, other than me, could put that space to good use. Obviously, I am mistaken. I ordered a drop rack from RSI, although not my first choice, it is better than nothing. The rack will be installed Wednesday. Now if anyone knows how to securely attach pelican cases to a rack, I am all ears? Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Normally you’d have to drill into the Pelican but I just saw a new release that has a new mounting design specifically for racks. Check it out. I’m sure if they work with roof racks you can make it work with other racks with limited drilling. https://www.pelican.com/us/en/discover/cargo-cases/cases/
