Speakers Popping/Static (LOUD) and Horn Honking?

I asked my friend who owns a dealership about this stereo issue and he seems to think it’s an ACM issue that needs to be replaced.

I was driving today, turned on radio, one loud boom, crackling over speakers. Radio and volume control did nothing. Switched from XM to iTunes, crackling went away. All normal next drive. I will check fuses on inside and have dealer check battery on Thursday, want issue documented. Thought a gun went off!

Post complaint here, get Ford to find a fix. This is definitely a safety issue. Link to F-150 forum, same issue.

This happened to me 2 months later of ownership, after turning on and off the truck with no luck, I unplugged the battery for like 5 minutes, and that did the trick. Then couple weeks later battery died, jumped it and never had an issue again. That loud popping sound scared the living shit out of me, though hopefully it never does it again.

My dealer said they did a few software updates, and uninstalled/reinstalled everything. It's been 2k miles and no issues.
