I just did a little more digging into the MotionX and realized when I downloaded the map files I didn't download a high enough zoom level for the day 2 maps. I could zoom out and get a general map, but didn't have the higher zoom details.

Since I already have the iPad, the cost/benefit of the MotionX for me puts a Lowrance on the mod list somewhere behind a CO2 tank, horizontal bed rack, Methods and Springs (danged joint checking account!).

I think the recommended download of maps is 10-16 for detail

I used my tracks and the only problem I had was that if you zoomed it out it would zoom back in when it got the the edge of the map and caught back up to the truck's location, if you had a navigator and they kept it from getting to the edge of the map it worked great though, and it kept my location updated constantly, there was no jumping around

I was able to figure this one out... on the right hand side of the screen, tap the arrow that sits between the plus and minus buttons... that cycles between keeping the map in a fixed position while moving your location and keeping your location fixed in the middle of the screen and moving the map.

Had a great time guys. It was great meeting new faces and seeing others again.

I was texting tbone yesterday and last night. The dealer did not start on his truck till late in the afternoon and as it stands now the ECM may have gone bad. The dealer is not able to provide a reasonable explanation as to why it happened.
He had to leave his truck and is going up next weekend to get it.
As far as the motion x program, I am not a fan. We converted it to work in the Lawrence and the turn detail was off and driving my codriver crazy. (He is used to the Lawrence files and they are much more accurate) The motion x may be a good way of mapping where you go. But I personally don't feel it's a good system for the Raptor based on the high speeds we are capable of going.

I agree, although the app isn't the problem. It's the conversion from google maps to the file format which is inaccurate. Lowrance files are far more accurate because the data is from a preran course so it will be more accurate than if it were just plotted using google maps.

Sooo, I think it's great for preruns because you can plot your route to go check out. From there it would be best if you have a Lowrance to record the track and would ensure the most accuracy. My bet is that if the course map had been put together from a prerun which used a Lowrance the data would have been much better on the Motionx app and lowrance's. I hope that make some sense.

just an update they confirmed that my body control module is bad my only question is what that is because what they described to me sounded like the computer that controls the truck. would anyone know how that could even break? the dealer doesnt know and their giving me bs answers on what could cause it. total is somewere in the 700's for the part and instal, i hope they wash my truck too that would be nice.

The body control module is kinda like the power train control module, they're both computers that control a lot of the truck's systems, the body control module controls most of the interior and exterior electronics, as well as it has a check system that controls the ignition system, which is why the truck wouldn't start Sunday, the bcm has probably taken a beating over the few years of it's life, so something probably came loose inside it and the slight vibrations of the dirt road you were on when it died finally finished breaking it loose

By the way, $700 sounds damn good for both parts and labor on R&R of a bcm, last I checked it was around $1,000+ just for the module

Well I made it home and it was a good trip. Glad I got to meet all of you and can't wait for the next run.

Oh and I know I'm going to here that my wife was right about buying the tire warranty after this. Good part is this one tire will more than pay for the warranty.

Wow! So that dealer warranty covers aftermarket tires?!! Amazing!
