rear blinker issue...dafuq is this?

Had a blinker go out and i traced it to this...a small sealed white box, that had a black and green wire connected to it but they seem to have broken off. What is this?

Anyone know what it is, for real? Its got aftermarket led taillights , dont know what brand, I bought the truck used.

Apparently its a resistor box.

Take the resistor box to radio shack and get an equivalent resistor and wire it between the two wires, simple fix. You can measure the resistance with an ohm meter or radio shack can.

Prob is, the wires are broken off well inside the seal on the box. Im curious however, ive been.thinking of getting new leds anyway, do they come with these resistor boxes?

If you buy a kit, it will come with all the wiring and accessories. Also, it doesn't matter if the wires are broke off inside, a guy can split the box open, the resistor will be inside.

its a looks like a resistor to used to provide the correct power to the led lights. a standard filament bulb can run directly off the vehicle battery, but led lights usually only require 3 volts. a direct connection to the battery and the leds will burn up.
