They're not bad looking, but click on the link again and scroll over the Thornbirds.
That's my pick and will have them delivered for spring 2012.

As for wear - I've had Swampers, Swamper SX's and Boggers and have had no issues putting 60k miles on them with mixed city/offroad use. I bought a used set for one of my Bronco's and put over 120,000km (70k miles?) before re-selling them as they still had 1/2" of tread left.

Depending on where you're going, that tread pattern looks agressive, however if you're doing mountain trails in wet conditions, I'd watch out for sideways slides off the trail going down hills.

Thornbirds are RIDICULOUS ! They have such a large tread they will wear uneven, they vibrate like a SOB, they will ruin your gas millage and feel like you just added 20lbs per tire but you will NEVER get stuck unless you frame out.

Those will turn into paddles after 5000 miles.

Everyone has been pretty happy with Nitto's or Toyo's but heres a tire thats slipped under the radar. - Cooper Discoverer Radial STT TEK3

Its a nice mix between a a/t and a m/t but leans more towards the m/t, quality constrution and good reviews from what Ive read. Plus it just looks BADASS. Ill be ordering a set next spring. - Ratings, reviews and specifications for Cooper Discoverer Radial STT TEK3 tires

I had these Master Craft or Corser CT's on the FX4 which saw 95 % road and they were a great tire and only cost me $850 a set installed and I got 35K from them which is 15K more than I got from any others on it.

Coopers are popular around here. A lot of oil field trucks and jeeps run the stt. They seem to do pretty good. I almost bought the Cooper stt but bought the grabbers instead. My next aggressive set of tires will probably be the sst or the new cooper st maxx (if cooper makes the size by then).Disco-ST-Maxx.jpg

I've also heard the Duratracs do pretty good year round but they are a softer tire and will probably wear faster.

Why has no one posted these KM2s? they are supposed to be great. Smooth on the road, and hook up great in the dirt. Pretty reasonably price too.

I looked at the KM2's, but they were on back order when I was ready to buy last time. Not a bad tire and only a few pounds heavier than the stockers. Also a good candidate.
