53. Married at 19, kids started showing up at 21, now a 2x-grandpa. Spent all the money we had on kids and vacations and couldn't have been happier to do it. Makes me laugh when people think a "thing" is going to make them happier than a family. No the retirement accounts are doing pretty well, we're in our peak earning years, time to have some fun.

Noah was not a good sailor and the boat ride was rough. Long walk off the mountain but now having the Raptor, all's well.

I’m 42 with a wife and 2 little kids. My mom and her husband both died right before they retired so I decided all that frugalness I had been living with needed to end. Set myself up fine up till then, paid off all debts, moved into a bigger house and half paid it off when we sold our last one. Their passing at 61 & 63 made me realize you can’t take it with you so live a little even if you are setting yourself up for later. You can do both.
