I got to ask. I know you got to use a ladder to get jinto the tent, but does it come with the tent? If so, show a pic of it and where & how it is mounted.

It does come with a ladder - although I had to specify that it was going on an SUV to get the longer telescopic ladder. They have a smaller one for sedans / station wagons.

I didn't actually use it last weekend - with a large number of people that I didn't know all camping in the same area - didn't want to wake up to someone thinking it would be funny to take the ladder. :badidea:

Instead, I just stepped on the bumper, then the top of the tailgate, then climb in.

Will try and get a better picture this weekend.

I'm thinking of doing a custom rear bumper with a swing-out tire carrier and maybe incorporate some steps into the tire carrier, so I don't need to worry about carrying the ladder. :)

That's sound awesome. I know you said in a past post you designed the rack and had it built, but do you have blueprint with the dimensions, etc.... I might see if I can get someone local to fabricate one up for my Raptor.

I do need to do the custom rear bumper with built in ladder on the swing out tire carrier though... Did not feel smart when we got to the desert and realised that the ladder was still in the storage unit at home

Here's a photo of our Autohome with the tent up and the ladder in place...

You're going to love the tent...They're super comfortable to sleep in (we've stayed in ours 11 straight nights) and the mattress is almost as comfortable as a regular bed!
I love your roof rack and mount. I thought about pulling ours off our Land Rover Defender and running it on the Raptor using a similar setup...Seeing yours makes me want to do it even more!! Great job!
Awesome photos too...What camera are you using?

Awesome thread...love what you did with the wheels. Makes me wish I'd ordered those wheels on my truck. They look way better silver. Keep posting, interested to see what else you do to your truck.

Thanks :) It's a Sony NEX-7 - really like it. Great interface.

Here's a few more recent pictures :)

Although - as good as the set up is - the roof top tent doesn't leave you with a whole lot of sky view as you lie down...
