Never heard of that one . HFP bolts yes . At least it getting fixed . Turbos and oil cooler should be replaced with any oil contamination. Intake is iffy if the replace depends on tech if he perceives contaminated oil came through pvc system
Do we know the coating on the bolts that broke? If I recall, it was brought up that hydrogen embrittlement might have been the issue on the HFP bolts.

Right. They won’t replace turbos without evidence that they’re damaged.

Oil is pretty vital for turbochargers. It’s a ~6mm shaft spinning 100k-180k rpm. It’s very likely they were not getting enough oil between the time the oil pump bolts started failing, and when they finally ultimately failed.

If main/rod bearings are damaged from lack of oil, it’s pretty good bet the turbo’s are smoked too.

I had the truck shut down (and never restarted) before the oil pressure light was fully illuminated. I recently lost a Powerstroke so I was insanely fast to react. No debris in oil. I looked at several areas of oil and saw nothing let alone metallic debris. The screens for the turbos were apparently debris free (I did not get to examine those). As you can imagine Ford had that old block locked down pretty tight as the prepare to ship it back to the mothership. Ford, I’m sure, will be looking closely at it since it sounds like it’s a pretty rate failure. If the turbos show any signs of wear I’ll be right back at the shop but so far so good. New long block is in and it is running buttery smooth.

Bought the raptor from Lincoln dealership with CAI and cat back exhaust. No other known mods. Didn’t get a chance to look under the truck very good before purchasing. I asked if it was stock exhaust and the tech said yes. Took a better look after purchasing it and it is a cat back. Checked the oil 5 miles before the incident on the raptor. Oil was between the dots, closer to the top one. Powerstroke plastic lifter sleeve broke somehow, lifter spun and ate into the cam. Too much metal to save the engine.

Damn, so whats the next steps here for you?

Edit: I guess I will keep reading the thread. :p

Nice, so how long was the overall process? How long did they have the Raptor?

Clear screens is a good sign, but those also only block larger debris as they are not a filter.

But hopefully you don't have any further issues. Glad you were able to get this covered under warranty and you're back on the road.
