Yeah, your truck should be here soon right. Nice.

I use gloss black paint on the reflector so its straight black. I wouldn't use nightshades on the reflector, it just doesn't give as nice of a finish, if thats what you mean. Only reason I use it on the amber side is so light will pass through.

Ill PM you a list of options and put your lights next in line.

I was just thinking out loud. Wondering what a smoked housing would look like vs black. Yeah my truck got built wed. Yeah PM me, mine should be easy

The lights you're retrofitting look awesome. Definitely impressive!
I'm thinking of going this route down the road. Just a Q. I am curious as to how the HID's (with low beam, cover of course) do in fog? Being that the HID's throw out so much more light than the stock halogen- but with better cutoff- I'm wondering if in fog conditions, will you get all that much more light bouncing back at you, making a low visibility situation a possible white out condition? I realize higher end vehicles have HID's and have not heard people complaining/raising this concern, however, I don't have experience with them and would like to know what to expect. Thanks in advance.

Good question.

HID projectors will outperform any other setup in fog conditions, heres why. If you think of how stock "fog" lights actually work - they are as low to the ground as possible and aimed low. This works because the less "fog" particles that are lit up between your eyes and the road, the less glare you have. You can also think of it as how when you switch to your brights the glare gets worse.

With projectors having a sharp cutoff there is no light spilled upward, like with the stock reflectors, which in turn reflects less light back to your eyes.

I've driven in fog numerous times with these projectors in my recons and can tell you they perform great. Its actually kind of addicting to watch the cutoff and see the actual beam pattern lit up. You get a sense of the lights cutting through the fog.

Hope that helps.

The work you are doing is awesome. I really like that you are offering us plenty of options to customize them. I can't wait to someone install a tinted set on a blue Raptor.

Thanks man, I too want to see a blacked out set on a blue, white or silver. I think they would great especially with the hood graphics. I can also do a matte black instead of gloss reflector or even color match the bezel or reflectors to the trucks paint, not sure how that would look but its an option.

I do have a black reflector set going out this week for a molten orange and a clear set for a white (well kind of) Raptor. Ill make sure they post some pics.
