13 SCAB P.S. return line restrictor.

Im in the process of adding a substantial power steering cooler. I noticed that about 5" on the 3/8" return line that theres a clamp around the hose and there seems to be a restrictor in there. Im not sure if I should place my magnetic filter before or after this,im assuming, restrictor?

Nobody knows, I take it? Wasnt sure if it was a restrictor or check valve. Im just putting the filter after it. I am going to blow the line out after I remove it.

I just have to decide where im putting the filter and if im going to hard pipe a section. I did have to move my horn a little to the left. Its a straight shot to the radiator as in it doesnt block the larger trans cooler though it might if your running the Saudi 9 core. Im running a 6 core and deeper pan. Im also going to give Amsoil ATF a shot over the Mercon V.

How hard was this to install? Did it come with all the parts and lines?

I actually bought the cooler, 3qts of Amsoil Sig series ATF, 3/8" in line magnetic filter and 4ft of 3/8" 400psi fuel line. Stainless hose clamps. I had to have my buddy install it for me. He used a vacuum pump to bleed/flush the system. I have partial use of my left arm after a motorcycle crash. Really sucks because automotive restoration was my favorite hobby. I do what I can and still enjoy it. We actually used 6 qts total of fluid for the flush.

I used my infrared temp gauge and I had 150 coming from the rack and 120 on the outlet of the added cooler. Im still using the factory cooler in the upper side of the condensor.
