I am thinking next spring I would like to remove the box and fully detail my frame and the underside of the box. What are the chances those torque bolts holding the box in place will come out? Should a guy buy new bolts and have the old ones cut out with a torch? Anybody been able to get them off recently? Accepting all reasonable solutions :)

While I'm at it, does somebody have the part numbers handy from Ford or will aftermarket suffice?

All but one came out of mine, the nut broke loose from the keeper. Not too big a job, but can get tedious depending on how deep you want to go.

Soak down the nuts you can get to from below prior to removal. I used a S38TP50 (Napa part #) on my 36" ratchet and they didn't put too much of a fight up. I wouldn't put an impact on them for fear of splitting the nut keepers myself.

Front nuts (bought individually, two needed): W708605-S436
Middle and rear nuts (came as bag of four, four needed): W712174-S436
Bed bolts (six needed): W709424-S902

Bajeesus a 3 foot ratchet? I have a 18" 1/2" driver, guess i could put a pipe over that if needed. Thanks for the part #s, I will get those ordered ahead of time.

You didn’t remove them when you got the truck and put anti-seize on and then reinstall to the torque spec? :)

Based on what I have read, they are one time use bolts and/or nuts.

The captured nuts are not threaded and the bolt cuts the threads into them on first use.

If you have the factory spray in bedliner cut the area around the bolt head with a razor so it tears the least amount of material away as possible.
