Maybe you are right but listen to this. A bit loud they didn't seem to be that loud when I got the truck.

It honestly does not bother me as long as it's ok.

My truck starting to sound like that, it ended up being a cam phaser issue. Dealer fixed it and my truck does not make that sound anymore.

Does it rattle realy bad on start up or when you rev it up?

Sound like the cam phasers, there is a plastic pin that breaks inside the phaser

I’ve got the access port already monitoring knock and have been for quite some time now. It’s never sensed any knock so I guess I’m good. As far as setting up to monitor timing for each cylinder.... I’ve been looking through the menu trying to find that for a week with no luck. I must be missing it somehow. I see ignition timing but not each cylinder unless it’s lumped together.

As far as modding.... I mod everything I own. I’m not worried as in creating an issue, just about if there IS actual knock somewhere and it doesn’t become obvious until after I’ve got a huge intercooler smiling at the service manager’s face. I was actually thinking about holding off on the COBB intercooler and going with a less obvious one like CVF or AMS.

The AMS is pretty big and therefor pretty obvious too. I went CVF and have 0 cooling or heat soak issues. As for the per cylinder it’s ign timing cylinder # .

check there and id get with a tuner to see what expected degrees of timing being pulled/sitting at is acceptable. I know many have suggested goose tune? Most are happy to help, but nothing is free. Hopefully they can win you over and gain your business too. Not pushing just saying. (Still on OTS tune for now)

I appreciate the help. I’m running the cobb tune right now and I’ve done some data logging. Since I can only run a max of six gauges, I’ll set them up for ignition timing per cylinder and run it for a while to see what I’m producing. That’s definitely a pretty good indicator if there is any slop in one cylinder.

Forgot to mention my CVF intercooler will be here tomorrow. I’m planning on installing sometime this weekend and loading Cobb stage 2. The CVF numbers are excellent and if in the future I need to go bigger, I can. The biggest advantage for me is that it’s not totally obvious should I need to go in for engine work such as the common cam phaser issue.

I had the same mindset. As for the ignition timing you can run like 1,4 and 6 or any order of 3 to see a discrepency as well
