I have the SVC intercooler. At first I was a bit concerned that the factory blow off vale now Vents to atmosphere because it's dumping air after the MAF read it. After driving it for a couple weeks now, The truck doesn't seem to mind it at all. In fact the blow off valve doesn't open as much as I thought it might. Maybe that's due to the 10 speed automatic keeping it in boost most of the time while accelerating. compared to my old Subarus which would noticeably run rich between shifts, this raptor seems unaffected.

So Nick, you are suggesting that the reason the engine temps run hotter after installing the ADD intercooler is because it is taking some of the airflow that would normally hit the radiator and supplying that to the turbo's instead?

Potentially. However, we've not had any customers with this issue.

Subarus run off of a MAF based system while the Raptors Ecoboost engine runs off a MAP/ IAT based system. The MAP system is not effected in the same way as a MAF when using a BOV to atmosphere since it is basing calculations for fueling on the pressure in the manifold and intake air temperatures, not the mass of air coming through the intake.

You are on point. Raptor’s are speed density.

They are not the same. Similar, but not the same.
Nick, I have the stage 1 for Cobb and want to add the FMIC , I saw on your website there is an option to switch / add a different BOV . Is there a benefit to this option. I also just purchase the CF end pipes from Borla to go with my S-Type from you guys. Super fast delivery. Thanks

Take a look at cvfab. Half the price for the same performance as other brands. I ordered mine Monday morning and was at my door Wednesday night.

Appreciate that, sir! Glad you got them and are happy with them!

You'll love the increase in performance with the intercooler upgrade and loading the Stage 2 ECU maps. The BOV is more for sound than anything, honestly. Yes, it is all metal vs plastic and is an electro-mechanical BOV so it's using an electric signal for manual operation. And being metal, it can holder higher PSI than the stock BOV. So is it a strength upgrade, yes. Have I personally see a stock BOV fail, no. Is it cheap insurance just in case, yes. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Cheers,

Nick
