I also wrapped my sub and center dash speaker and was happy with the results for the effort and minimal cost. For me it was just enough of an improvement to make me happy for the way I listen to the stereo. The sub is definitely cleaner and noticeable at average volumes to lower volumes.

For anyone doing this, when removing the dash tray be careful not to lose any of the white tension clips as they can fall off when you pop the tray. Nobody likes a dash rattle.

Ok, so yesterday I pulled the Sub, and wrapped it completely. I also added some polyfill to the cavity. I can certainly tell a difference in bass output. My problem is that I don't listen to the radio loud enough to get much out of the sub, there's decent thump with the volume way up, but at lower volumes not too much. I there a way to increase the gain on the stock sub for better performance at low volumes?

Isn't the stock amp mounted right beside the sub? No adjustability there?

I don't think so. I think you may just have to adjust the bass/sub level upward at lower volumes. I'd also try the speed compensated volume...I don't use it, but it may have a loudness like function increasing bass at lower levels.

I just did this yesterday and was a great mod. In my opinion (not near the output) but to me seemed like going from a muddy 12” to a tight 10” sub. Tweaked the treble, mids, and bass and system sounds really good. No need for me to upgrade the system.

GLAD I found this thread...…. Thought it was my Old ass ears making it sound so Muddy. Back to Amazon :)

How much polyfill is enough?

I've 100% Dynamatt'd a a few cars. roof, floors, doors, pilliars….everything. MIGHT have to do the Raptor. Does make a HUGE difference.

I have had some left over dynamat in my garage from another project and decided to wrap the stock enclosure. Wow what a difference, this is not earth shattering but you can tell a 35% increase in bass out put from stock.

Yes I know bass is misspelled in the title I can’t fix it

Thanks for the tip! My dynamat is on order for this project!

Ha been so long ago forgot I posted this till someone liked it. I may have upgraded a bit since then. Upgraded stereo the right way is no comparison to factory. It did seem to clean up a bit of the bass after wrapping the stock box.
