I installed my tune two weeks ago and drove it for seven days before reading the posts under the https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/catastrophic-engine-failure-what-would-you-do.63966/ thread and took it off today. Yes it was great to drive but not worth the risk in my opinion. Thinking about trading in on a Shelby Supercharged F-150 and having a truck that is actually fast.

I also agree with this, however will also note to temper any knee jerk reactions. The OP of that thread wasn't running an MPT tune iirc, and the only real item of note so far in the thread is that the dealership has said engine tunes void the powertrain warranty. Most people that tune their engines understand this, and (based on what I've read) will return to the stock tune before any service.

So far, my biggest take away from that discussion is that if I'm ever in the same position, my answer to the "did you tune your engine" question will be, "what's a tune?"

That being said, I'm still very interested in the conclusion to OP's dilemma.

To which they will say, "That is the thing that incremented your flash counter which we have no record of in the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System." For a catastrophic failure, I am sure other logs will also show them what they want in order to blanket deny your warranty (Ford, not dealer). Blah blah Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act blah blah. Be up to you to fork out the money to try to force them to cover it.
