The OP of that thread wasn't running an MPT tune iirc, and the only real item of note so far in the thread is that the dealership has said engine tunes void the powertrain warranty. Most people that tune their engines understand this, and (based on what I've read) will return to the stock tune before any service.

So far, my biggest take away from that discussion is that if I'm ever in the same position, my answer to the "did you tune your engine" question will be, "what's a tune?"

That being said, I'm still very interested in the conclusion to OP's dilemma.
