Ok, I finally got off the fence and ordered an mpt tune. Can't wait to see what all the hype is about, because stock this truck does not live up to it's looks when it comes to speed. Now I need to get off the fence on exhaust and wheels. My boat comes out of the water this weekend for the winter, so it might finally be time for this truck to see some love.

Once you get the right transmission programming to meet your needs, you will love it and have a really hard time driving it in stock mode.

Boats are black holes for sure.

Isn't there one that most people like? And, why would I drive it in stock mode?;)

I would wait to see how that thread plays out before taking it as gospel.
I looked long and hard for anything on the internet related to MPT and engine failures and really couldn’t find anything, so I am not overly worried. If you drive the truck really hard with or without a tune, your chances of having issues is a lot greater. I enjoy the truck, but I don’t beat on it and so far all is well.

I think the shelby 150 is one of the ugliest trucks on the road. I'm not a fan of the 150's look in general, but the raptors flared fenders and aggressive looks do it for me. The shelby raptor looks great to me, but not a street machine. I kind of wish they made a raptor that was more of a street machine, but then again maybe I don't because I'd be out a ton more money!

I installed my tune two weeks ago and drove it for seven days before reading the posts under the https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/catastrophic-engine-failure-what-would-you-do.63966/ thread and took it off today. Yes it was great to drive but not worth the risk in my opinion. Thinking about trading in on a Shelby Supercharged F-150 and having a truck that is actually fast.

I also agree with this, however will also note to temper any knee jerk reactions. The OP of that thread wasn't running an MPT tune iirc, and the only real item of note so far in the thread is that the dealership has said engine tunes void the powertrain warranty. Most people that tune their engines understand this, and (based on what I've read) will return to the stock tune before any service.

So far, my biggest take away from that discussion is that if I'm ever in the same position, my answer to the "did you tune your engine" question will be, "what's a tune?"

That being said, I'm still very interested in the conclusion to OP's dilemma.

To which they will say, "That is the thing that incremented your flash counter which we have no record of in the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System." For a catastrophic failure, I am sure other logs will also show them what they want in order to blanket deny your warranty (Ford, not dealer). Blah blah Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act blah blah. Be up to you to fork out the money to try to force them to cover it.
