Dang really? That's not good. I knew it was a temporary fix but sure hoped it was going to last longer than that!

Tell me about it. I've read accounts of it not returning for ten thousand miles so my hopes were really high. It's not as bad as before though, happens only every third "stop" or so. Not too confident that it will stay that way...

I've got abotu 500 miles on mine since the lube fix on the driveshaft, but have a different noise in the driveline. Sure, it makes a 'clunk', but I believe its tranny or transfer case related.
Driving around downtown today in snowy conditions - it was like first gear was tripping into second. Coming to a full stop - it clunked coming out of second into first. But things were different when I engaged 4HI - it wasn't as noticeable.
I've got too many meetings this week now to get it in for service, but will early next week and post up what gets fixed.

Mine started clunking again yesterday, its not as hard sounding but its definitely back. 150 miles since the work was done. I think i'm gonna wait for a more permanent fix....

I'm still waiting for my Raptor, was built on valentines day, but I know of 2 in my area, one built in Louisville and the other in Dearborn. The Dearborn rig doesn't clunk and the other does. Does anyone here have a clunking Dearborn rig?

I don't have a Raptor....yet... but I did test drive one this week and the first thing I noticed when taking off out of the dealership parking lot was a slight lag in the driveline followed by a very noticable "clunk". I pointed it out to the salesman but he dismissed it as "something may be loose in the back seat" LOL.

So when we got back to the parking lot I told him to listen while I started forward from a complete stop. Sure enough it not only made the "clunk" sound but you could feel it too. This truck only had 45 miles on it.

Seems odd that a brand new vehicle from the factory would need the slip yoke to be greased....I'm thinking something else must be causing this or possibly a design flaw and the "grease" fix is just a "band-aid". Plus I wonder why the slight lag ....allmost like too much "play" somewhere in the driveline between the transmission and the rear end maybe even a transmission gear backlash combined with rear gear backlash (which could be a designed in "normal" occurence that is causing the "clunk"...?)
Could it be that some trucks are set up with the gear backlash on the higher end but still within limits so it is more noticable.

Damn, mine is back also, had it "fixed, lubed" 500 miles ago. remember asking the tech he told me he never has to lube them twice.

Louisville? As far as I know, all Raptor's are built in Dearborn. Could it have been in transit through Louisville?

Didn't you read my thesis?! It happens on '10's as well. But I do wonder if it's more pronounced in crew cabs.
