It's really not a bad idea, the ram runner kit is a great idea. If the raptor hadn't come along there would still be kits to LT a regular F150, would you guys call that stupid as well?

No its not a bad idea, its really cool I think, but you can't compare it to a raptor, which is what all these mags are trying to do. It's definitely making this style/ sport more mainstream as opposed to just out west. Nobody knew what my "prerunners" were until the raptor came around.

What would will make this more fun comparison is in 2013, the new Ram looks so bad the RR kit will look terrible on it.

now you are talking semantics...

If the 'idea' is turning a regular truck into a prerunner - I like that 'idea' and the ram runner is a good looking truck and certainly is capable

if the 'idea' is to take a factory truck, bolt on a bunch of aftermarket stuff and call it Dodge's answer to the Raptor - it is a stupid 'idea'. As I posted earler, the Raptor package contains much more than long travel shocks and as evidenced in the Car and Driver quote I posted earlier, the ram runner's factory parts aren't as heavy duty as what comes on the Raptor - so while the runner might outperform the Raptor in one area (the area they spent 30k in aftermarket parts to accomplish) it doesn't come close to matching in all the other areas that make up the Raptor.

it is kinda stupid if you compare the two, Raptor (stock) street legal vs Ram runner with a kit not street legal.
To make it even they should have also add a kit for the raptor.
