Oh sweet there is an Elocker option too:

So I'll keep the truck and have this installed.
It sounds like that’s the better option for your use case regardless. The Torsen will behave similarly to the test you did with the front wheel off the ground; it is not a locker or limited slip. It can bias torque side to side, but it’s ratio based on the torque of the spinning wheel. So if the bias ratio is 4:1 and one tire is in the air, 4 x 0 lb-ft is still zero.

Tomorrow I'm going to take the truck and find a nice depression to put two opposite corner wheels in the air and see what I get with an unlocked rear diff.

Hmm.. now that I think about it, when I stopped one wheel from turning, the other wheel turning doubled in speed while in the air. I'm trying to figure out if an open diff would do that. You can see it in the video. I know a Torsen for a fact has that characteristic, but I'm not sure if an open diff also does.

EDIT: Yup, looks like one stalled wheel on an open diff will have the free wheel spin 2x as fast.

So do we know if this 2023 non-torsen brake magic is any good then? I get it’s not physical and it’s electronic. Can anybody with a 23 shed light?

I don’t think that video has enough load or variable torque to show the Torsen in action. Can you take a pic of the differential housing? We can compare to a known non-Torsen Raptor.

Is there a way to pull the part numbers for a known Torsen raptor and compare to a 23?

Ford parts site is kind of a mess, if you have a 21 or 22 with a Torsen you can probably check your part numbers. I always thought the carrier was a different size on the Torsen so I was just going to check mine tomorrow to see. Doubt there has been much part # revision from 21 to 23 but assuming to see something different on mine.
