Thank you. And I 100% will and was calm for this whole process. I know being an ******* gets you no where.

I’ll keep this thread updated once I learn more.

Fuel pump does not run continuously, it's a closed loop system once the fuel rails are up to pressure the pump turns off.

When the engine is running, both the low side fuel pump (in-tank) and high pressure fuel pump (on engine) run constantly. The PCM has the ability to control the duty cycle of both via the Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) on the low side and the Fuel Volume Regulator (essentially a VCV) on the high side.

Gen 1 only has one fuel pump and turns on and off as needed.
If Gen 2 has two that's new to me.

The low side fuel pump is the same design and is still controlled by the PCM through the FPDM; it never turns off. The PCM only adjusts the duty cycle using the FPDM based on demand. The engine will only run for a few seconds if the fuel pump turns completely off because there will be no fuel volume.

Small update. Sound appeared to be coming from the passenger rear shock. Took it to the dealer with the videos I’ve been stock piling. Waited about two hours to have the service advisor tell me “yeah I heard the noise, it does sound like it’s coming from the rear shock. But I think it could be normal for the 20’s”

I politely told him this isn’t normal and he knows damn well it isn’t.
He then said “ well it’s a $1500 shock and I need to confirm with corporate before I order it and if that is a normal noise or not”

As soon as I left the dealer I called Corporate. Waiting on them to get back to me.

Very disappointing Ford dealers have mechanics who are completely clueless about the cars they sell. Coming to Ford from Toyota/Lexus, it feels as Ford is lacking about 20 years behind in technical knowledge and expertise. How can they give you a warranty runaround on a brand new $70K+ truck? It's not like you bought Ford Fiesta from them.

Having upgraded my one and only fuel pump on my Gen 1, I know how the system works.
You have a fuel pressure regulator/sensor at the fuel rail on the engine, a fuel pump driver module by the gas tank and finally the fuel pump it's self.
Now both Livernois and the SVT tech that install my 750 HP fuel pump upgrade said, the PCM will cycle the pump on and off via the fuel pump driver.
This happens quickly you can't notice it, while the engine is running.

Now if they changed the fuel delivery on the Gen 2 that's fine.
In the unfortunate circumstance that something happens to my Gen 1 and need a new truck, I want learn all I can about the Gen 2.

So, are still saying there are two pumps, one in the tank and one up at the engine?
And don't misunderstand me, I'm not starting anything I just want to learn.

So my truck has under 600 miles. I’m unsure if this is a normal noise, it’s very noticeable. Any thoughts?

My guess is it's the Fox shock that is defective and is in a continuous adjusting mode and is probably stuck.

$1500 for a shock. Wow. That's a SHOCK in itself. Get it? Shock! :angry94:
