Couple of questions for you all. I ordered my Screw a month ago. No update from dealer or word otherwise. Do I have to wait for the dealer to give me update and a VIN # is issued before contacting Ford chat? Will the dealer send me VIN info once it’s ready? Not sure if I’m just in holding pattern with no way to see progress until a VIN is issued.

I know one month isn’t long compared to most of you. I don’t mind waiting. Just don’t know what to expect for updates or process to get them.

Thanks for sharing this. If I can easily take this off when I need to transport the ATV this will be my choice.

We get it, Ford didn't deliver your truck on the *estimated* date and you're upset. But honestly, how efficient do you expect the logistics of shipping something that pushes 6,000lbs in weight across the continent to be? There are a LOT of variables that go into that estimate. (Read: I used the word estimate twice)

Let me give you another example. I built a house in 2017, something that cost me 10x what my new fully equipped Raptor did. The close date was pushed back almost two months. I wasn't happy about it, but I also understood that I chose to build my house through a production builder, not a custom builder. Had I gone through a custom builder, the deadline would have been more exact, given their business model and volume.

You're still trying to compare your experience with niche luxury automotive companies to a fleet volume based manufacturer. So sorry to say this, but your expectations are of your own making.

** Edit: Language/grammar **

Again, I don't think you get the entire point of why I am upset...no car manufacturer should take almost 5 months to deliver any car from anywhere. Not Ford, not Porsche, not VW, not Mercedes, not anyone. It's pathetic!!! What kind of weather could possibly delay a truck delivery 1 month... it should never take a company like Ford almost a month to ship an automobile 600 miles once its already on the shipping truck. Stop making excuses for Ford. Ive personally shipped many cars before and this doesn't add up.

And the fact that they now charge $1595 for shipping is ridiculous!!! I received a quote to ship my car from Kentucky to CT $850. You would think a company like Ford would charge a bit cheaper. A large mercedes SUV coming from Alabama to CT only costs $995.

But that's the thing, these claims you're making aren't accurate. Here, how about we clarify a few things:

1) You submitted your order on November 27th, with a promise of 8-10 weeks. Assuming your order was picked up the next week (this is unlikely), you're looking at early to mid February for delivery.

2) The 8-10 week estimate is for a normal build. If I were to order an XLT F150, the estimate would be 8-10 weeks. This doesn't hold true for Raptors because.....

3) Raptors are allocated vehicles. Your dealer will only get so many builds per month/year. So unless there was no one in line in front of you (also unlikely), your build is not going to be delivered in 8-10 weeks. XLT, sure. Raptor, no. Your dealership was either mistaken or just flat out lied to you.

4) So because your Raptor build was subject to allocation restrictions AND the '19s had a flood of orders due to the delayed model year start, the March delivery sounds about right.

5) Your delivery was delayed by 13 days. Thirteen Days. Of everything above that is normal and just how the process works, this is the only item you can really be upset with Ford over. But you don't even know why it was delayed, you're just reacting without the necessary information to form a structured opinion.

So, because your truck was delayed 13 days you cancelled your order. And like I've said before, I think Ford has a lot of room for improvement on the customer service side. But regarding the logistics of building and shipping, I completely get it and can't fault Ford much on such a massive operation. However, better (much better) communication on the process would go a long way in helping to alleviate customer dissatisfaction.

But looking at the items above, your complaints should be largely directed at the dealership for providing inaccurate estimates. My own delays were due to the dealer ******** up my order submission -- The only thing I blame Ford for is doing a poor job of communicating. But once the plant received my order, the truck was built and shipped with only a few days delay.

And I get we're just going to disagree on this, you're going to blame Ford and I'm going to try to point out where the blame really lies. But after all of it, the only constant that remains is that you wanted a Raptor that you're not going to get because of an emotional response.

Train is passing through Yermo, CA which is just north of Barstow, CA. That is approximately 2 hours from me. I am guessing the train drops the load somewhere in San Bernardino, CA for pickup by truck transport to the dealership. I just hope the transition from the train to the truck is not weeks
