That wasn't the worst dose of mud she's seen under the hood, but that bit I posted on the trail running thread was true - when your rad fans hit as much as an inch of muddy water - the whole engine compartment gets a bath.

The 40 minute drive home from the trails does a pretty good job of baking mud to objects - but I just blasted it out with a garden hose. Soak it first, then spray it. Don't recommend a pressure washer.

I bought a (can't remember the name, but it's purple) steam cleaner this winter, and found it pretty good for detailing the tight spots. It's also worked good at getting the salt deposits outta the carpet. (I don't care whether the floor mats are weathertech or stock - when you have a hole in it for the securement peg to poke through - all the melted snow/water/salt will go down that like a sink drain.)

Well, as much as I wanted to work on my muddy pic today - this is what I woke up to this morning. Blizzard conditions have closed roads towards the local trails, so I ain't going out to play today...

You could always improvise and work with you've got. One idea comes to mind and in my opinion yellow snow is considered "dirty".... You could get creative with that one!!! :ROFLJest:

Thanks Rap - do you have any idea how much it would cost to get the local strippers to give my truck a ************* in this weather?

Im gonna look for a field I can get into, strap the ass end to a tree, and giver in 4H to dig through the snow and ice and get that mud bath... Just sucks that it's sposed to snow all day tomorrow too...

Hell - I'm not worried about winning this contest - I'll be posting muddy pics up in the albums section every month I can when it doesn't snow in this God-forsaken town. (I had an inch of snow in August last year for ***** sakes). A pic is just an image - being there and doing it makes memories forever. If I can share, I will.

BTW, still looking for a camerawoman - 5'4, 110lbs and blond - then I'm set for some good vids and pics - as well as having someone to hook up a strap when pulling someone outta the mud.

Awright - despite the foot of snow we got yesterday, and the trails being inaccessible - I managed to find a place to make my own mud this evening.

This hill didn't work, but left a witness mark on the bumper. Damn rocks...

This hill I made it the furthest :)

Too cold to get the mud to stick to the truck - but I collected some in the wheelwells...

I had to make my own trail and siphon water from the adjacent pond... Couldnt play in the pond as I didn't have anyone with me to yank my sorry ass out.

An overview of the area after I spent over an hour tearin it up...

All in all it was somewhat disappointing because of the cold conditions - but I'll put forth my best pic in the contest thread.
