I plan to purchase a winter wheel/tire set.

I have three goals:
  • look great in size and style
  • proven winter rubber
  • doesn't significantly change/worsen ride or speed indication (on-road)
Fwiw, I've used dedicated winter sets the past 7 years.....and a believer that preventing just one accident makes it all worthwhile.

I plan to reach out to a few forum sponsors/members to obtain prices.

Currently, Vorsteiner (direct) is selling a set of 601s for about $1500 shipped.
Tirerack lists the 20" Blizzak DM-V2 for $237 each.
So I'm looking at $2500 plus TPMS ($100) and mount/balance ($100).

You all think this should be good to go?
Something else I should consider?
IF SO, LET'S HERE IT!!

I’m New to raptor ownership. Just picked up an 18 screw. I’ve run both on past trucks. Both great in the freezing snow. I think Nokian Hikkas gave slightly better tide ride and similar noise.

You're not actually looking to run the 285/50R20 are you? That will be very small for a Raptor.

It's only 31" tall as where the Raptor has 35" stock (34.4" OEM if we really get down to it). The 275/60R20 would be a better option as it's closer to 33" but still small for a Raptor. A 20" snow tire close to 35" might be a tough find. Are studs out of the question? If so 275/65R20 is the best bet. It's 34.2" tall and narrow which is better for the snow. Might look a little narrow on a raptor but it's best case scenario for a true winter tire. Here are few choices
LT275/65R20/10 126/123R GEN GRABBER ARCTIC LT
LT275/65R20/10 126/123R COO DISCOVERER M+S

Thanks.

I'm open to all options, but not sure about going to a studded tire.
What is the best size option in your opinion?

Almost seems I should just stick with 17" size wheels for winters and add stock size Nokians.
